Message: I had a little trouble removing my fan at first. Thought I would have to use something to hold the pulley from turning but there isn;t much room down in there for much..
What I did was simple. I used a pipe wrench on the fan nut, and of course the pulley wants to slip under the bolt. All I did was take my other hand and lean down on the belt tensioner with my weight then gave my pipe wrench a ~WACK~ with a hammer and the thing spun right off!
I've been driving for a month or so now and even towed a 12 foot trailer and Quads to the dunes a few hundred miles each way. The temp never went up except on a BIG hill and that wasn't even half way. Granted, it is FALL not SUMMER right now.
I also installed a home made fan control that cycles at about 170 degrees. (Goes hand in hand with my 160 degree t-stat).
If you do not use a control or have your PCM re programmed, then you fan will probably not kick in until it goes over 200 degrees (unless the A/C is on). Kind of kills the performance a little when you've been sitting at a light or something.

Message: Mr. Hey,
I could be mistaken, but I think they still put the 5.2 in the 4x4's, in 2000.
A friend at the local homebrew store has one.

Message: It shouldn't hurt it. I've driven MANY vehicles that did that. The sucky part is it ROBS power when it is engaged like that. I'm sure you;ve noticed the lack of power when it roars?

Message: I have a 2000 dak w/ the 3.9 V6. It has both the small electric fan on the raditator and the clutch fan. Would this small electric fan be enough to cool my dak if I took the clutch fan off? It has the stock thermastat.
