Subject: Stalling/rough idle IP: Logged
Message: Any suggestions?!
I have a 01 QC 4.7L with 70mm TB, 4" Z-Tube, 180 T-stat, and 3923's. Whenever I start my truck after it has been sitting for awhile (like over night) the RPM's go way down and sometimes stalls. It will do this one time then it is fine. I'm not sure if it is the 3923's or what. I've been reading all the posts about plugs for the 4.7's and can't decide which ones are better. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Message: Dakota playing dead, I had the same problem. I would start the truck then the computer would decide it didn't want to idle so the truck would stall. I checked everything plenty of gas, oil...
I idled the truck for 5 minutes by holding down the accelator to keep it running but nothing would work. The second I let off the acclerator, the rpms would drop below 500 and stall. So I gave up and reset the PCM by disconnecting the NEG battery terminal and turning the ignition to start for 20 secs to drain any juice from the computer and now everything works great, thank god.
Tip: computers sucks, reset the PCM

Message: Could be the battery; was for my '98 3.9. Did it again months later and I'd put in too much gap on the plugs.

Message: I've reset the computer about three times, no luck. Could the battery be bad after only 16,000 miles? The plugs have only about a few hundred miles on them, and I checked the gap on every one of them before I put them in. I was thinking of trying the 5224's that Autolite says to use, see if it makes any difference. Thanks
