Subject: Parts for Heads/Cam Install IP: Logged
Message: I've got a set of heads and a cam on the way and I'm trying to figure out what all I'll need for the install. Head gaskets are obvious, but a buddy of mine mentioned cam keys and a timing chain...will I need all this for the install?

Message: Well-- I am about the do the same thing (have the cam, waiting on the heads)... I've figured.. timing chain (double roller), water pump gasket, intake manifold gasket kit (with bolts), head gaskets (with bolts), anti-freeze, oil change, so trans fluid, water bypass hose (water pump to intake manifold), gasket scraper--- add to that for me-- guide plates/longer pushrods.

Message: What about cam keys? And what brand timing chain did you use and how much was it?
