First off just got the new z-tube took 4 days to get here. I think that is quite fast-Thanks Bernd

Anyways does anybody have ideas for an insulation or wrap to cover the coolant/heater tubes. or should I just leave them alone?

One of the gents on a Quad Cab forum wrapped all of his AC lines & intake tube with pipe insulation & finished it off with aluminum tape.

It didn't look too bad, and he claims a noticable difference in his AC's effectiveness.

I'll see if I can come up with his site again & post the link.

How about going the passenger side radiator support flap removal route first?

I took that flap off long time ago before I found this site. Common Sense?

Halo- I was also thinking pipe insulation or even maybe a header wrap. I would like that link to check it out !

Thanks,
Rob

Don't do a header wrap, it may cause premature cracking and stuff. Prvents proper cooling of the headers...

I was gonna use the header wrap for the coolant lines not headers!

On Gen III's there is a strip of weather insulation along the back edge of the hood closest to the windshield. Duner said he removed that and it drastically reduced underhood temps.

hey guys
header wrap on coolant lines may be ok, but i dont think i'd put it on a/c lines. alot of condensation forms on the lines when the a/c is used and if its wrapped the condensation will not evaporate well and may cause your lines to rot out prematurely. just a suggestion.
