Subject: What is the next suggested mod? IP: Logged
Message: Hey fellas,
Yeah it is that time of the season for me to switch from snowmobiles to the R/T. Hmm cost's more to mod the sled! Anyway I am looking for the next suggested mod for my truck. I have a 99 R/T 180 t-stat, clamp on filter to air hat, Mopar perf. computer, mopar performance wires. TB will be installed soon, along with a different cold air kit. Full length headers next step? M-1?
Should be studying for finals!

Message: John I have used the MP intake, 2 barrel M1, Headers and 3 inch exhaust. I have nothing but good to say about the performance parts from mopar, the quality and fit are excellent and the increase in ferformance was noticable with all. I should recieve my 1.6 roller rockers any day and I am sure I will not be dissapointed. The M1 and the headers were the greatest improvement, I think the two together work great. If I could only do one I would go with the headers first but the M1 would come next. I also have installed a 180 stat, MSD, 3923 plugs and ported throttle body, except for the throttle body I noticed no improvement in performance. For the money you just can't beet the sound and performance of headers. Just my opinion though.

Message: Tim, what headers did you get? i have jba's and they didnt change the exhaust much and i got WAY more power out of the manifold.
also, why are you going with the 1.6 ratio rockers? are you getting a bigger cam?
RTjohn, i would get the 2bbl M-1 FIRST. your pcm will LOVE IT!

Message: Heard you get the best HP if you do as much as you can w/ the intake then open up the exhaust.

Message: i agree. if you open the exhaust first you might lose too much torque

Message: Kota, I have the MP headers which include the tri y headers and y pipe which dumps into a 3 inch collector, after that its a 3 inch cat and 3 inch MP exhaust. As for the rockers, yes I do plan on a perf cam in the future thats why I stayed with the 1.6. I just received them today. I did port my throttle body the same time I put on the headers. I would not argue that the M1 was a noticable difference in performance. I am researching cams now, has anyone used the MP cam? Any comments on camshafts anyone?

Message: Tim, i have heard the R/T cam sucks, but the new MP cam (which might be the one you are talking about) might be better
