Search the forums...there have been volumes written about the Jet Chips. Bottom line, they aren't worth it...rank right up there with throttle body spacers.

I have a stage II in my 98 5.2 and it makes a huge positive difference, whereas a spacer is total crap. You will find that some people like the chip, some say it makes no diff. The spacer makes no difference at all. If you look through the threads, you will see the board split on the chip, but I am happy with mine, and I only gave $50 for it.

It really depends on how much you pay, the less the chip costs the better it performs.

The performance of the Jet chip has been sketchy it works for some and not for others. Rascal got his cheap and it worked for him. I have hear few other reports of a good nature though.

Hey dakota657. what year and model is your truck?
If it is a 97 to 99 you can get a mopar pcm which will be much better than a jet chip if your truck is newer than I dont know what to tell ya because I have a 97 dak with a mopar pcm, so i have no clue on the jetchip. Just an idea...

I have a 97 dakota 5.2. The hole idea here is to get some profomance cheep!! I am a college student and and to help my truck, and not pay a lot. So if it is not to much, or you konw of some one who will sponser this college student trying to make a cool, fast show truck, while paying for school, gass, and all please notify me!!!! But how much is the mopar one, any one got one they dont want?

The performance PCM that dodge makes is around $300-400 and about $50-100 to have it flashed for your truck.
ASE makes one for $350
and you can have a custom flash on your computer for $350-600 all approx.
Those are the ones that have been proven to work in almost all applications. I'm not knocking the Jet Chip it just has not proven itself enough to justify its retail price.

The 97 mopar pcm dodnt have to be flashed. All you do is plug and play the only problem is finding one. The 97 5.2 is what I have and it took me forever to find a pcm.
