I don't believe they have released the price last week. Where did you hear that? There was something in the Truck trend article about what they "thought" it would be, but that's it. The "buzz" section over at www.car-truck.com is sure to report the pricing the day it comes out, and it hasen't yet. For crying out loud, the pricing on the new 2500 and 3500 series Rams is not out and they will be on the lots in September where the SRT-10 is January at best. The only official word on pricing of the SRT-10 from Dodge is "competitive with the Lighting" and $65,000 is not even close.

Reserve prices don't mean sales prices. Actually those reserve prices seem outrageous! I bet I can reserve one at Dave Smith (the #1 Dodge Truck dealer on the planet) for $1000 on a $350 over whatever the invoice ends up being, just like every other Dodge they have ever sold (including, Prower, Pt, Viper, ect.). If those dealers are promising the truck at those prices then that only tells me one thing, that they are certain they will not be more then $45,000, because as I said, the pricing is not out yet.

You guys obviously don't remember how the first Vipers came out and were assigned to dealers by their customer service rating. Certain dealers got them and certain others didn't. And then most of those dealers auctioned them off by sealed auction. The first Viper that came to my dealer was sold in a sealed bid auction to some guy from New York who flew to Atlanta and then had his car transported back to New York in a private semi truck. He paid $175,000 for it.

Sticker on the viper was $72,400 at the time.

So all you guys who were just gonna head on down to the dealer and pick up your brand new 500hp super truck may have to get a second mortgage first.

Or ask your Mom & Dad for some help. hahahaha

Dodge had always planned on limiting the production of vipers, and they really did the first year. they had only a skelition crew making them compared to what the PVO has now. They also have all that capability from the Prowlers that they can dump into the SRT Ram and Neon. Dodge has come right out and said there will be no limit on the production of the SRT Rams, just as many orders as placed will be filled, and I bet that means whatever dealers place orders will get them. This is also how the initial allowcation of WRXs was done, those poeple that preordered off the internet didn't count toward the dealers final allowcation numbers for WRXs. Still if you want to be the first in your state with a SRT Ram then I'm sure you'll have to pay, but keep in mind there are going to be lots of people getting them at invoice, which is going to suck for you come resale time. Even if they do end up with allowcations, go to Dave Smith, they absolutely sell every Dodge for $350 over invoice, and seeing as they are the #1 Dodge truck by volume dealer in the world, I'm sure they will get a good allowcation. Funny thing is that they didn't stock Dakota R/Ts only custom ordered, I wonder if they will be busy ordering SRT Rams even if they don't have the orders in advance?
