Subject: TURBO OR S/C? IP: Logged
Message: I was just wondering which would give better performance with no other major mods and which would be less harmful on the motor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Message: Could you increase the ratio of the drive in the SC and instal a blowoff valve like the turbo so you could get the boost from a sc earlier?
Middy.

Message: you can change the ratio of the pulley, which will spool it up quicker, but it will also may spin the impeller past it's safe limit and risk burning up the bearings or breaking the impeller.
The superchargers rely on engine speed to build boost...the faster you spin the engine, the more boost you make. Works differently on a Turbo...not as engine speed related.
