Message: I know this is a late response to this thread but I attempted the key thing with my 03 QC Sport Plus 4.7 auto. The truck really flied. Check engine light came on and stayed on but the truck drove okay. The next day the light went out and stayed out for two more days. The third day after I did this the check engine light came back on and the truck would barely go. Like it was stuck in high gear. Had it towed to dealership and diagnosis revealed the TCM was damaged. Dealership replaced the entire PCM to correct the problem. Sure glad it was still under warranty. I will never do this again!!!!

Message: Has anybody else destroyed anything because of this trick. This is kind of important since i plan on doing alot more than 95 in the quarter and im not sure what my 75 shot would do if the motor hit the speed limiter. Cant imagine it would be a good thing.

Message: Maybe you should put a inline switch to OPEN the sensor from your tranny/axle speed sensor. Then you can go faster. But still may get a light, but no PCM damage I'd think.

Message: I'm thinking instead of using a switch on the speed signal line, use a frequency gate similar to a speaker crossover. I'll guess that the speed sensor is just an a/c signal that increases in frequency with speed. A simple crossover circuit could be used to block frequencies at or above what is generated at the vehicle cutoff point.
Anyone isolated the circuit yet? Now you want to check the frequency of the circuit when the limiter kicks in?

Message: Or better yet, make a circuit that will drop every other pulse from the rear speed sensor. Your going 80 MPH, and at a flip of the switch the truck thinks your only going 40 MPH.
Now you only have to worry about the truck cutting you off at 196 MPH ;-)

Message: Maybe some electronically inclined individual can come up with a simple divide-by-2 circuit to do that very thing.
Maybe make your warranty last longer, too, since you'll be rackin' up the miles in slow motion, eh?
