I need to price a governor pressure solenoid for a 2002 dodge dakota sport. How hard is to replace or can it be done by an owner without taking it to a repair shop?

try rockauto.com for the solenoid. As fas as changing it, that all depends on you knowledge and skill set. With a manual, to me would be a piece of cake. Someone else, only they would know what they can do. If memory serves me, I think it's on the valve body so dropping the pan you can service the trans while you're at it.
