I hear 40 series are awesome, but will they fit my 4.7?? Do all you with 40's have 5.2 or 5.9? Is the inlet 2"??

Also if flowmasters arn't possible whats' next best? dynomax ultraflow?

Flomaster makes mufflers for 4, 6, and 8 cylinder dakotas, check it out.

If this "arn't" possible, you can always try Gibson, Dynomax, MagnaFlow, Spintech. But I'm sure they all have one that fits.

I have the 2 chamber 40 series. I had a shop install it. It is single in and dual out. It sounds good. Its not a kit, it was all bent by the shop. I have a not so great recording here http://www.geocities.com/dodgedakota2001qc/myotherdodge.html I got some kind of feed back off the mic I will try to up date it soon.

I have the 40 on my 4.7 and i think it sounds good. Not much interior noise at all. Nice deep rumble.

Yah know what I never knew what mandrel bent really ment. I always thought mine was but I did a little research and found out it is not. I am not to sure of the inlet/outlet size of the top of my head. I am pretty sure it is larger than stock. For how it sounds inside it is not too loud. At certain rpm's the interior resonance is a little loud but after a while you dont even notice it. Over all I am very happy. Oh the web address has is http://www.geocities.com/dodgedakota2001qc/

The Flowmaster on my Truck Sounds awesome the 40 series will be louder but i find acceptible plus when i floor it She sounds like a Banshee but then again i have the 3.9 it also depends on the tips too i used to have 4 1/2 chrome tips that damn near made your ears ring after prolonged trips but since then i reduced it down to 3 1/2 pipes and what a difference it made much more tollerable

ANY muffler you find is basically universal. The muffler shop would take a flange to the inlet or outlet if it needed stretching. For example, if you needed 3" and the outlet is 2.5", they would stretch it to 3".
