how do you know when the MAP sensor is going out? about what miledge does it go bad?

it's not really a mileage thing... your truck will probably run really rich if it goes bad. computer uses it to determine the amount of fuel to use, kinda like a mass air flow sensor on a GM, except that the map sensor uses vaccuum and the mass air flow uses... well, air flow. if it goes bad the computer should throw a check engine light and it will have to default on the fuel and will run it rich to make sure not to lean out. had that happen on my Shelby.
