Hey Bernd, I am up just north of dallas and I was planning on making a trip to Austin and I was thinking about stopping by your shop and having some work done. Are you gonna be there monday (3-25-02) or tuesday (3-26-02)? I was also gonna let you try and talk me into a supercharger, hehe. Please let me know so that I can round up the cash to make the trip.

Well, I don't think I will be spending a whole lot of money this trip. My beloved 15 year old siamese cat is pretty sick, just took him to the hospital today. I think he will be okay, but they are going to keep him a couple of days. That should effectively eat up most of my money for goodies, but I'm not too concerned with that right now. I just want my buddy back safe and sound.

Lesley, I have 3 cats, a boxer, 5 fish, and a Budgerigar (australian parakeet), I know how you feel about the pet thing.
Intense- I figured you for Fed-EX or UPS cause of the hours you work. A job is a job, be thankful you have one right now...

Kinda. I had to put $12,000 down because they would only give me $7500 for my trade in and I owed $13,000. The sales guy almost crapped his pants when I was wheeling and dealing with him. Originally they would only give me $6000 for trade (they still ripped me off with only giving me $7500) and they wanted $8000 down. So i said okie doke and got up and started to leave and he said "Hold on, what can we do to get you in that truck??" hehe, four hours later, I signed the papers and picked up the truck the next day...

Wow you had to put $12,000 down to get that R/T , that's about what a '99 R/T goes for here in Tampa Fl. My girlfriend traded her base model '99 Cavalier 2.2 auto on a '99 318 Dakota Club Cab and they paid off her car (owed $9,500) and put her in the Dakota for $0 , and kept the payments within $20 of what they were on the chevy.

No the truck was only $24,500. I WANTED to put the extra money down to keep the payments below $500 per month. I owed $13,500 on my other truck, and they would only give me $7500 trade-in. That left me with $6000 left that I owed which I covered with part of the $12,000 down payment. If you are not familiar with this, it is called negative equity (i.e. being upside down). Since the value of the truck is less than I owe, I had to come up with the difference. I used the rest of the money as an actual down payment.

Holy sh!t! You paid $24.5K for the R/T? Zoinks! I hope it was loaded as hell....they were selling the R/T at a dealership where I live for right around $22K. But then again they had some CRAZY deals here. They had a 2000 R/T (I think it was 2000...whatever the last year was they offered Solar Yellow), Solar Yellow, undertherail bedliner and painted tonneau cover, with literally EVERYTHING on it, and about 27K miles for $15,500. Also had the remainder of the warranty. God did I want that truck.
Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
K&N FIPK
17" rims
And much, much more...

R/Truck- Yeah, I went to the race track last night, damn torque, no traction...I was getting 10.1's all night...A couple of people tried to race me on the street though, like a beanered out thunderbird and a Ford Ranger Edge...That's about it though so far...
