Subject: Where to cut hood? IP: Logged
Message: I am getting ready to install a '69 Camaro Z/28 style cowl induction scoop on my 96 Dak. I want to make it functional. I will cut off the back of the scoop so it is open but where should i cut the hood? Should i just cut a hole to get airflow through the engine compartment or can i use it as a ram air system? I am thinking i can re-route and cut the air duct, fab up some support brackets and put some weather stripping around the top of the duct so all the air that comes through the hood gets forced into the throttle body. Any thoughts???

Message: Don't cut the hood. It won't work. Just sell the hood on Ebay and order a shaker hood from Terry at Proglass. I have one and its the only one in town and all I get is complements. Its definately worth the money too. If you need the address to Proglass let me know.
