I was just wondering if anyone has any info. on magnaflow stainless exhaust. I was thinking about installing the muffler or the cat back system. Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't really call it a muffler, I believe it is a pipe with some insulation wrapped around it. You can see right through it, so it may be pretty loud. Never heard one, but I looked at one at a muffler shop.

I have the Magnaflow and love it. It's not really all that loud, just a mellow rumble. I had my local exhaust shop do a custom cat-back with it. I would highly reccommend the Magnaflow.

How does a 3.9L sound with the muffler taken out compered to a 5.2L with the muffler taken out. I love the sound of the 5.2 so I am wondering if I should do it to mine or not.

A Magnaflow 'muffler' is actually a new form of the old Cherry Bomb style 'muffler'. They are great for top-end, but kinda takes away from your low-end since these kind of straigth-thru hi-flow 'mufflers' do not give your engine the needed back pressure for proper valve operation.

Listen to Dr. Dak, he's right on. Design your drive train for the kind of driving you'll do the most. That is: engine, trans, rearend tires/wheels. All these end up working in conjunction with one another. You want to have mods that are complimentary to each other. If you 'paste and patch', your rig will never perform as well as if you undertake a planned system of mods. Remember: 'Without a plan there can be no action; without action there can be no victory'. [Or Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance-the 7-Ps Principle]. Do your research and plan your combinations with an end product in mind. You'll be much happier and spend less $ in the long run.
