Message: Did you guys notice any performance gain by running the old style round, open element filter & housing? It would seem like all you would be getting is the hot air from the engine compartment.

Message: I'm running an open element and I have had a great performance increase with it. I haven't tried the K&N FIPK so I can't compare but for $25.00, it's awesome. I have a 98 V6 and am running with an Edelbrock 10 inch round part # 1208. It comes with a 10x2 inch filter and I replaced it with a K&N 10x3 inch one when the previous got dirty. For 25 bucks.....try it!

Message: i did a comparison with my gtech between a 14x3 open element and a home brew cold air intake. i did 3 runs with each and made more h.p. with the open element everytime.

Message: I have a 94 Dakota thats the only choice I have un less I make a home made one. Mine is a K/N part #57-1501 It made a big difference over the stock drop in. K/N don't make the FIPK for 1994 to 1996 3.9 .

Message: i have had an open element filter on and the mopar cold air kit (k&n fipk). there is a big difference between the two. the mopar us much better but the open element is much better than stock or a home brew with the stock had.

Message: I use the stock 95 set up with a K&N drop in, inverted lid and the grill intake air cover removed.
The M1 with this set up wfo sounds like a 850cfm holley 4bbl. under the hood.
