Subject: Brake Click? IP: Logged
Message: I replaced the pads with VGX semi-metallics
and had the rotors turned. After I bedded in the
pads per mfr's. instrux, I now hear a wheel
RPM-related click - click - click every time I do
moderate-to-hard braking rolling forward. No
noise in reverse; and it seems to need
warmup to start.
The pads are snug against the rotors, but I
think that is normal (I can hand-turn the
rotors).
I took off the front wheels to inspect, but found
nothing abnormal; everything is torqued to
specs.
Any ideas as to the cause?

Message: My brakes made a clicking noise from the front for a bit. Turned out a piece of metal bracket that hooks across the caliper assembly had come loose (it was spring loaded) and was hitting the rim. But if you took the tire off, that's probally not it.
