Mine is pretty much the same as a 360. I have the Quick D, and I'm pretty happy with it.

I have the Airaid intake for the 02 4.7 liter But I just ordered the 360 intakez to see if it is better. I think I will like it more even if it only for looks. I don't know if the performance difference will be any better. I will be selling the Airaid system.

damnit intense, i thought i had the homebrew idea out of my head but now you've got me thinkin' about it again! ok then, forget the 360, now i need to decide between intense performance and homebrew. I looked up a bunch of stuff about homebrew and there's alot of info. It sounds like it works just as well as a store bought intake. i think i'm leaning towards homebrew, what do you guys think, and how can i make a heat shield for it.

Go ahead and make your air intake. Then you can take construction paper and fashion a heat shield by bending and folding the paper for the best fit and installation. Take your paper mold to a sheetmetal shop and they can reproduce it with any metal you wish. Of course you may have to install it in pieces and add securing points.

The 360 for your truck is the best deal and it comes I think with a heat shield. I made mine for my 4.7 and I like it, but with the scare that 360 has on his page made me think. I live in Colorado so I don't think I will every get the engine bay that hot. If you find a good deal on the WEB for a K&N or an S&B (better) then make your on, with paint it looks real nice. Search for the V6 home brew for good ideas. This WEB page has good prices on the S&B filter www.autoairfilters.com get the r35-0007 which is a 7" long filter with a 3.5" opening, whcih fits the end of a 3" ABS pipe or elbow.
