I've seen a lot of posts on this board, and others, about some really sweet hoods, cowl or ram air, and i've seen none sweeter or true to form for bad boy mopars than the shaker style. I haven't seen any claiming to be functional for the 4.7 though;
Are there any- or am I off my rocker???

AAR custom fiber glass is working on one or maybe
it is out, I did some mods on there hood and even
thou it is not 100% sealed the fileter gets fresh
air right on top of it.

i found the aar web site, and i'm sending them a question about the 4.7 now.
How extensive were the mods you had to do? The prices listed on the page really are less that what i've seen around so far...

EXCUSE ME! I have the shaker set-up and the 4.7 and yes it flows the cold air straight into the k&n filter and into the throttle body. Really sweet!
shaker hood/w k&n-magnaflow duals-ss grille-westin safari bar and nerf bars-
mtx thunderforms-are lid-z-liner sprayed in bed

i got this hood from hairyglass.com. it realy gets air to the filter. i relocated the filter with an almost 90 degree elbow out of the throttle body.

The hood is nice but I'm looking for AAR RAM AIR INDUCTION hoods they are really nice. I just don't know where to get one and who much they are.

I had a shaker hood, it flowed pretty good, but
it weighed a ton, more than the stock steel
hood. Now I have Jonas's GTS2 hood and
love it. It is lighter and flows the best, right into
the throttle body. The shaker intake has to
make a 180 and then a 90 into the air box.

OK first of all everyone has there own style, so whatever hood you got is what you wanted, but if your talking about the best.....its the shaker...
its one of the lightest out there(i cant understand how fiberglass can be heavier than the stock hood) but the design of the intake cause a kind of forced induction into the 4.7, combine that with a better flowing exhaust, and your talking some serious power. ive seen 3 Daks with shaker hoods in florida, and the owners all had dyno sheets ranging from 17 stock to even 25 on one.so again, its all the same, and its all Dakotas, but the shaker is the best out there.

Not that I am one to argue but I believe the gts hood flows better. It was designed to look good but also to flow the best. The air scoop was placed in the area of the truck the air pressure is the greatest. With the shaker it does not stick up high enough to grab enough air and its not in the optimum location. As well with the gts hood its a straight shoot right into the throttle body. But what do I know. This is just how it was explained to me in the past. Jonas could answer this the best.
