Yeah the lawyers say after they drag it out for 6-8 months and if they don't forget about the ticket and just drop it they'll request that defered judication thing.

Save some money, you don't need a lawyer, walk in where you pay, slap it down and tell them you want defered judication, they hand you a paper you have to fill out, put on it plead not guilty or no contest, your choise, bring the paper back in 90 days and viloa, don't have to worry about your insurance..

Been there... done that... more than once...

Well if I just pay the ticket thats gonna be over $100 minor traffic tickets are all that much. Lawyer cost $55 and they'll request that defered thing if its not dropped. They say the probability of gettin it dropped is good. Heard good things about this firm so I'm gonna try it...$55 is better than $100+

Ya wanna know what rips my a$$? These danm cops that pull me over when I'm the ONLY one out on the road, conditions are good etc etc.. and I'm just cruisin along like 10 over or something and I get pulled over. WTF, cops should be bustin the a$$'s that are weaving traffic, driving unsafe vehicles, riding peoples bumbers etc. etc.. bust the people that cause wrecks and leave me the hell alone, even if I was doing 20 over on some back road with no cars, I'm only going to kill myself, I mean hell, its TX, flat and long, I see bunches of people every day that I'm like man, if I was cop I'd rip them up, but no, the cops are too busy nailing people that don't have a front plate, or out in BFE just driving along etc. etc.. they should get their sh1t together and bust these bastards on 635 35 etc.. that cause all these pile ups and traffic jams....

Hey I hear ya dude, w/ ya all the way. There was this Dallas cop on the radio the other day sayin that nobody wants to work for the Dallas PD. A bunch of people quit cuz it sucked and the higher ups in the PD were askin the current employees if they had relatives that needed jobs, regardless whether they know anything about bein a cop. They wanted to train em as fast as they could and put em on the street. Now thats sad.

Oh and here is somethin else I heard from my step dad who is a cop. He said that usually cops don't pull people over unless they're doin 15-20mph over, but if by the end of the day they dont' have a certain number of tickets written, they look for any excuse to write you one or they have to write a report on why they weren't given tickets and prove they weren't just sleepin on the job. Even though most cops would deny this if asked.

Personally I don't know what the fascination is with enforcing traffic laws over all other laws. The police seem to put a lot of effort into making money on people who are generally productive, law loving, Americians. It seems saving all that manpower used from 9am to 5pm and putting it outside of bars when they close to stop drunk drivers would serve the public better. I know they want nice monday through friday, daytime shifts but it seems criminals usually keep other hours.

You seem to forget that generally productive, law loving, Americians are the same people who asked for these traffic laws to be created and enforced. It sounds like traffic enforcement is rather cushy where you're living if standard procedure is to pull people over only if they're exceeding the speed limit by 15-20 over. You can gripe all you want, but when it comes down to it, you did something that the law clearly say you can't do. Is it fair? You may not think so. Are there bad cops out there? Unfortunately, yes. However, a cop isn't bad if they're doing their job and doing what people are paying them to do - enforce laws. It bugs me to hear people complain about getting legitimate tickets for traffic offences (as petty as they seem) and then blame the cop for not having anything better to do. The way I see it, if you're going to engage in actions that are deemed unlawful, you're going to have to learn to deal with the consequences. "Live by the sword. Die by the sword." Petty laws do serve a purpose. Without them, things would be a lot worse. People would take an inch and make a mile out of it. Okay, I'm going to get off my soapbox for now. =)

LOL, Dallas cops do suck!!! Been to that cour house too many times, The lady that prosacuted me said that I look familiar and I told her that she didnt and she started to laugh and called me a street racer beacuse of the location of the ticket. And I did have a plate it was just in the front window, if yall dont remeber I made a post about 8 months ago saying that a drunk drive totaled my dak and hit my house, well I bearly got it back from my friends body shop and the plate wasnt mounted but they didnt care and the cop that stoped me was traing a rookie so he was a total ass and i was trying to be polite. Oh well.

Yes sometimes enforcing the law is more clouded in making the quota or bringing in the income for the state or county. Sometimes we are discriminated by the way our vehicle looks. But I'm glad they have traffic cops present to stop maniacs from racing down 30-40mph roads in excess of 70-100mph. We still have to remember that driving is a privilege not a right.

I'd have to disagree on the "driving is a privilege not a right" thing. Many of the founding fathers did not want to include the bill of rights into the constitution, because they didn't want to give you rights? NO! because they didn't want you to think that only those rights listed are the ones offered to you by the constitution. It's the other way around, unless something is specifically prohibited then it is a right. Of couse you can have rights taken away if you commit a crime which is what would happen in the case of traffic violations. And its the same thing in needing a liscense for a car as it is for a gun (although this is the first step to taking a right away). It is not like the majority of citicens really want those rules. Once again lets go back to my state, Montana. We didn't want a highway overall federally mandated speed limit, we fought long and hard but the federal government forces it down our throats against the will of our voters. Luckily our law enforement was in tune with the people and they put up the signs but didn't enfore the limit. Then the feds came back and said you need so many tickets a month, a quota. So they once again thumbed their noises at the feds and made it a non-record, pay on the spot $5 fine. Finally we won the long fight and had the federally mandated 55 limit removed all together. We did get no speed limit for some time, but unfortunately over the last 20 years we have been flooded by non-natives who don't understand how to behave unless there is a law written to tell you how (California, are you listening?) So we once again have a speed limit but it it more in tune with what we want. I not been issued a moving violation in Montana in the last 15 years, and I'm only 32. I do not follow all the traffic laws, but do where it's called for, and the law enforcement here seems to understand that. Other places I have travelled, there is no such luck. I have gotten tickets so I become a grandma outside Montana. I don't break any rules on outside turf 'cause I can't figure out how the police will respond.

Ya sorry to hear all your guy's problems but I
love it here in Indiana about 30 minutes from
downtown Chicago. In hammond the cops have much
more important things to deal with besides people
speeding. I can honestly say you will only see at
the most one person a month get pulled over. I do
at least 10 over at all times. It's not the safest
but ints more fun. It is a different story in the
two towns over. The worst is Munster. If you go 2
miles over you will get pulled over and there are
no warnings. Drive safe and fast. Have fun
