Well boys and girls I just purchaced a 2002 Club Cab R/T tonight and traded in my 2001 SLT 3.9. Not that I have to tell you but oh does it feel so much better. More room, more power, better looks, etc.

I'm sure the jump from 3.9 to 5.9 was pretty dramatic.... I felt it from 4.7 to 5.9 greatly... low end and high end... couldnt beleive my foot or my speedometer... I love this truck

Yeah goin from a 4 banger Ranger, which I know for a fact is slower than a 4 banger Dakota, is a big jump goin to an R/T.

Oh I love it, my other car is a 1998 Mustang GT (Read Fiance's car). I love the low end power in this truck.

I went from a 4 banger RC s-10 to my
4.7...spend way too much time at the gas
station...foot has some kind of attraction to the
floor.

The R/T is still made for 2002, it's not listed on the Dodge main page as one of the R/Ts for some reason. Just go into the 'build it' area for Dakotas, pick a 2wd RC or CC sport and then sooner or later you'll get the option of the 5.9 or the R/T package. It's also listed in the options section of the site along with the content of the R/T package. Or check a site like www.carpoint.com and their 'build it' section is really good also, it won't allow you to pick incompatable options and it also gives you the dealer cost where the Dodge site does not.
