Message: Here is a link that might answer some ?'s about LSD It does sound right because I had a 94 Z28 with a posi as soon as I changed to full syn. gear oil it got to where it would only spin the right wheel PEG-LEGING.
Also My mopar dealer says to use 2-4oz bottles of limited slip additive(FRICTION MODIFIER)With conventional oil.
Check out this link.

I would recomend NOT using synthetic lubricant in the rear diff. Problem is it makes everything so slick, the way your limited slip diff works is by friction, eliminate that and you might have a quest that spins one tire while that Talon next to you at the light takes off. In mine i used valvoline 90WT with one bottle of Mopar Hypoid additive(about $3 at a dodge dealer).
Word to the wise...handle the hypoid with caution...stuff stinks beyond belief.

Message: You better not tell chrysler that they use synthetic in some of the LSD diffs right from the factory. Jeeps for example. Can't remember what I turn at 60 or 70. I think 2500 at 75.

Message: I have a '01 4.7, 4x4 CC with 3.92 and 16 inch wheels. At 60 I'm turning 2K rpm, 70 reads about 2350-2450, 75 (my normal cruising speed) reads about 2600-2700. I live in the mountains, do most of my traveling in somewhat hilly terrain and usually make about 16mpg on the hightway, 12 around town. I think my mileage was better before the dealer flashed my PCM on a TSB. There's your data point,
