Message: I noticed I had a hell of a lot more traction with sand bags in the back of my truck, 'specially in the launch. I don't know if it actually made me faster or not, but switching gears was a bit different.

Message: I had four 50 lb bags in the back of my truck this winter, it did give me more traction, but it seemed to slow me down a little.

Message: If you do this I'd sugest putting weight in a box between wheels, braced to the front of the bed. If you ever hit anything and stop suddenly you don't want that loose weight coming at you.

Message: I put 4 patio stones in between the wheel wells on my truck for better traction in the snow. When I drove the struck without anything in the back in the snow I looped it a couple times. The weight made a tremedous difference but my gas mileage suffered and I gotta take it outta overdrive to power up hills

Message: I noticed when I put in my stall mat-bedliner that it helped out alot, esp. in the wet. These mats are about 1" thick hard rubber and weigh something like 150Lbs total. It did slow it up a bit. (4x6' sheet runs $38)
