Message: I recently bought a Mopar R/T Magnum camshaft
kit and I am having second thoughts about installing it. There seems to be alot of negative stuff coming out about this cam,no power gains and
loss of power. Anyone have one installed in there
Dakota ? Looking for some input.

Haven't tried it myself...but have heard the same thing from not only some R/T owners (who have installed the Mopar R/T Cam) but also from the engine builders as well. Take it for what it's worth.

Message: One of my friends was talking about how some import magazine was ripping on that cam because it showed that it had lost power on a dyno. I wish I could find that article, it's up to you.
What is an import magazine have to do with an R/T?
Oh well.....

You'd be surprised how many time the Dakota (not just the R/T's) have shown up on the import lists. I've seen it on Honda, Toypta, and Nissan webforums.

Message: I have installed this cam shaft along with the milder crane version and they both work VERY well. My dak went from running even with my buddies grand cherokee to pulling two lengths on him every time, with a worse holeshot, didn't matter still pulled past! Put It in already. ps my dakota is auto and I found 3000 to 5400 it would pull harder, always shift manually when I race now

Message: you just cant throw a part at the truck and expect miracles! you need the computer,headers,24#injectors and a stall would help also a major help is msd box and coil cause dodge is the worst ignition out there no time slips but mustangs are no problem and my truck is a ext.

Message: Just looking at the cam specs is enough to realize that anyone who has said they lost power with it (after stepping up from the stock cam) means they didn't know what they were doing, or were flat-out lying. Install it already. Just make sure it's installed correctly.

Message: What gen1 sez is on track. Just make sure that you centerline the cam correctly. Used to be that MP sent you a VHS on how to do that when you bought a cam.
