If you load the engine very hard at all it goes into boost. If it's under about 2500 rpm when you hit the throttle - there is a minimal waite before it hits boost. Anything after 2500 rpm and it's almost instantaneous.
As far as cost - I got all the good-guy and buddy deals I could get from people that owed me favors and I did all of the test fitting and fabrication. It cost me less than $3500 to build mine but $3500 would be a smokin' deal considering all the labor and design work that went into building the system.
I haven't raced any vipers with my truck but when comparing performance numbers..... they would most likely leave my truck in the dust. A 12 second vehicle compared to a 11 second vehicle is a huge difference. It runs good.... but not THAT good! I've put away some new 'Vettes, Camaros and Mustangs though. The look on their faces is well worth the price of admission!
