I have posted this one before did not get any answers. I want to replace my 3.9 with a 5.9 love my truck hate the ratteling piece of crap fo an engine. what kind of changes are involved what all do I lose (air cond.)? It's a 4x4 do I have to change the tranny?

yeah there have been a lot of posts about this.
the concensus was that it was not worth the money.
I wanted to do it to but you have to replace a lot more then just the engine. It will cost between 3000 and 6000 i think.
i say if u have the money get bernds turbo kit...you will be faster with better milage. or supercharge it and ull be as fast.
These things are definatly underpowered though.

I think if ur gonna go through all that u might as well upgrade to a ram V10(not viper since u dont care about speed). Its been done. Search through the posts there is a lot of stuff on this topic

i was looking at doing it for less than $2000 but i bought the bottle instead....i found a complete 360 out of a 94 ram for $750 and all i would of had to buy was a new computer and mounts.....didn't want to bother taking the engine out though and i would rather build up my own 360.....

I was wondering did you lose any of the comforts like air conditioning cut up the heater box? I put a 302 in a 4x4 Ranger had to lose everthing didn't matter there because it was a mud racer and I wanted everything out any ways this one I wantto drive in comfort and have a little more towing ability. Sorry trailer queens for me to the track. A little more towing power and the DAK is perfect. 200,000 miles of hard ass driving the v-6 is pooped.

You could install a 408 and lose nothing ... there is plenty of room
