Message: Hey I was just doing some math for my engine to see what surface area I need for my '93 318's air filter. At the moment I am running a 14x3" open element. I did the math and my engine only requires 68.58 sq inches of filter area and I am currently running 131.88 sq inches. If I effectively block off the difference and run just over what is required it seems this may speed up the air charge and also have more of the air coming from the same direction thus reducing turbulence. What you guys think?
