Subject: Idea! Need advise IP: Logged
Message: I just had this idea! Instead of using the IAT adjuster why not use the A/C button! Since the PCM sees the A/C on it advances the timing and fuel. But have a switch that disable the A/C clutch from engaging to make up for the A/C power loss. And since the A/C never disengages at WOT the benefit can still be had from the advance timing and fuel.
Any know if this is possible without messing up something or causing check engine light?

Message: I bet the switch you'd have to wire up would cost you about $35. So does the IAT adjuster. Hmmmmmmm......

Message: I already have the IAT adjuster, it doesn't work right with the 2001 PCM. I was thinking more of a off/on switch that might cost a buck. Let the IAT sensor do it's job by optimizing fuel/timing from taking real time readings but at a increased setting.
Rather than guessing and always adjusting what setting to use on the IAT adjuster.
