Subject: 2X4 4.7vs 4X4 4.7 ?
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2X4 4.7 w/ some mods. Such as, an 4" intake tube, 70mm TB, IAT adjuster, flowmaster exhaust, TPS adjustment from .52v to 78volts, and some hotter plugs Autolite 3923's. It is also an auto tranny, 3:55 rear end, and a QC. My buddy wants to race me in his CC 4X4 4.7. He also has an auto tranny, w/ 3:55 gears. The only mods that he has is an airaid intake kit, and flowmaster exhaust. A few of my other buddies told me that he would take me in the 1/8 mile because he has the advantage w/ the 4X4. It realy does'nt matter but, I guess that it is just bothering me because I have spent close to $1000 in mods and all he has done is put a flowmaster exhaust on it, I gave him the airaid intake, because I had made a 4" intake tube for my 70mm TB. So what do you guy's think ever raced like this. please reply

Thanking you in advance,

Justin P

You'll blow the doors off of him. His truck is much heavier than yours, being that it is 4x4. You can do it!

Yeah, plus he's got a lot more driveline power loss. It might be close, but if your equal drivers with equal traction, you'll take him.

Yeh, but just say that he starts off in 4 wheel drive, and changes after 50 mph into 2 wheel, (he does that every time he races, yeh I know he's gonna do it one to many times and then, "bam" he's gonna drop his transfer case, but just say that he does start off in 4 wheel drive, then what do would you think then? If you ask me mabey just mabey he might take me off the line, until about 20-30mph, and then I'll take over, but who am I to say, other peoples replies count too.

i personally raced a 4x2 4.7 with about all the mods you have. and i have a 4x4 4.7 with flowmaster 40 series airaid intake,180 stat tbs jet chip and i smoke him by 2 car lentghs. then after we were done racing a stock mustang fox body style 5.0 flew past me so i caught up with him and we were next to each other going about 35 or 40 we both punched it and i pulled on him quite abit but when 85 to 90 he pulled past me but i still caught up with him
