Subject: air baffles 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: i've heard alot of guys grinding "air baffles" from air box..where are these in the air box..are they in the box,air hat, or snorkle thing..i heard its a free 5-8 hp..one guy had his truck on a dyno did 2 runs then removed the baffle and the 3rd run was 6hp gain..any free hp is good hp..

Message: You can't help but see them inside the air box. I used the gringing/cutting wheel on the trusty dremel. I alo cut the front of the airbox out. I can't really attest to how much improvement it made I added a K&N dropin 90 degree fernco and ported and polished the tb. All together that really perked up performance and let loose a a heap of kick but noises from under the hood on acceleration.

Message: Dr. Q, you said you ported your TB? Did you dot hat yourself, or did you have it done. Just wondering, cause i am looking into doin that myself, so i was just goin to ask how you did it. thanks jake!
