Hey Bernd, I live in austin and have talked to you once on the phone, and am ecstatic about your shop opening up. I'll probably see you every payday :-) I looked at your price sheet and saw machining for $575. What type of machining are you referring to and would you be able to balance and blueprint a 95 5.2??? If so I would love to here some numbers from ya.

Thanx for the feedback.

This is the basic machining:

Hot tank the block, Bore/Hone Cylinders, align-bore cam and crank journals, recondition crankshaft, recondition rods, balance the reciprocating assembly (pistons included but supplied by the customer), install new brass freeze plugs, and assemble the short block.

It does not include parts costs though...just labor.

If you want blueprinting as well...that is above and beyond the basic cost. Blueprinting is only required if your building a serious HP engine. The basic rebuild will not need this at all.

I was planning on adding your twin turbo setup when I can get up the money, but I have about 110K miles on my motor. I figure if I get new forged piston/rods, balance and blueprint the motor, along with the basic rebuilt items that it should be able to handle the power addition even with the high miles. Am I correct on this??? If not please let me know what I need to do in order to SAFELY put the twin turbo setup on my truck.

Thanx
Anthony

With those parts you listed (don't know the brands you're planning on though)...forged is definitely a safety measure for the TT Dakota. However, we're only going to be pushing 8# max so it's safe for Hypereutectic pistons. If you plan on boosting the pressure (voids the warranty on the turbo kit)...stick with forged. If you plan on more than 12# boost...invest in o-ringing the block/heads.
