Subject: TAX Return investments!!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I am new to posting on this board. I will say that the knowledge that all you guys have is quite amazing and has been very useful to me. I have a 1998 cc 2wd 5.2. It was originally an SLT, but now, it is all black with 2" of drop all around. I just purchased R/T wheels from my dealership for $640....I considered it a deal, and put BFG Scorchers the wheels in addition to the fender flares I also picked up from my dealer. My exhaust will be installed tomorrow (Flowmaster 50 series DeltaFlow) 3"in dual 2.5" out before the rear wheel. I have custom made a cold air intake via a huge K&N sitting atop the throttle body breathing through my East Coast Customs Ram Air Hood. I also have a Jet Stage 1 (that is about to be fired after reading that it is almost worthless). I am installing a Trans-Go shift kit this weekend as well. With all that long B.S. out of the way...I turn to you guys. I am wondering which direction to turn to now. I have heard good things about the M1 intake. Also, I was wondering if I should consider a set of roller rockers as well, or If I should open up the exhaust with headers first. So, what I am really asking is "What should I do next?" I have also thought about adding nitrous, but do not want to flirt with the possible dangers of seriously trashing my motor....I think if I buy nos, I will constantly be on the bottle. Thank you for reading my lengthy post, and if youre not asleep yet, please reply. Thank you very much for all your help in the past and future!!!

Message: hey brandon, i also have a 98 5.2, but with the 5speed. i can tell you the best mod for me was the 1.7 roller rockers. i have the M-1 intake sitting on my floor right now (i cant install it untill i pass my smog test in about 3 weeks) ;-( im hopping it will give me the same results as my 1.7's
if you really dont want to do the 1.7's now, a better throttle body will give you more power off the line.
here is my list so far.
-k&n gen II
-50mm throttle body
-1.7's
-jba headers
-carsound cat
-dumped mopar cat back
-and a few small things

Message: yea i bought the mopar's (which are made by crane).
well, i noticed on the stock engine, the power would drop off at about 4200 rpm. with the rockers, not only is there more power at every rpm, but at 3000 it starts pulling hard, and even harder at 4000rpm untill it hits the revlimiter at 5200rpm.
instalation is pretty easy as well
