Message: let's get this straight, at anything near sea-level a LS1 F-body will run in the 13's EASY. they're rated at 305hp(non-RamAir) at the crank, but many dyno 290-300hp AT THE WHEELS. these cars are no joke. there have been a few 6spd stick LS1 f-body's that have broken into the 12's completely stock. a friend of mine ran his A4 99 TransAm with only a K&N drop-in and a flowmaster muffler, and pulled consistent 13.3's@107mph.
as for the RamAir models, only the WS6 TransAm's RamAir is very functional. the airbox is right at the front of the engine bay and the TransAm's RamAir goes basically directly into the box. the Camaro SS on the other hand has it's scoop half-way up the hood. the air has to go in, make a 180degree turn, go down to the front of the hood, make another 180degree turn, and then it's at the air-box. so it's not very efficient.

Message: Ok to start a Z28 camaro is not a 5spd it is a 6spd. My friend has a stock 2000 camaro with a kn airfilter and ran a 13.1 in memphis. That is not the ss the ss ran a 12.8. I dont know if it is the differnce in the tracks or what. There is not a stock supercharger on any camaro. The only thing close is a turbo on a 87 transam which only had a v6 in it

Message: Just read this and thought I may chime in since someone mentioned Sacramento. First off, a camaro is a SPORTS CAR and a Dakota is a truck. True, the R/T is a sport truck but come on, its still a pick-up none the less. Not sure what all this means but I must congratulate you on getting any traction at all on wet pavement, I know its mighty hard.
Now on to this fast R/T is Sac. I havent seen him so I would appreciate if you would point him out to me.

Message: Southern 118 Good review... only flaw is... Turbo TransAm's came out in 89 and had the Buick GrandNational turbo 6, they were all indianapolis pace cars. The first pace car ever to pace the race, as a matter of fact, that did not have to be modified... And the thing that pissed general motors off so very badly about the Turbo TA was the fact that, in Car and Driver or road and track i cant remember which one. There was an article where they had ran the 89' Turbo TA against the 90'Corvette ZR1. The ZR1 Corvette ran 12.9 Stock and had a top end of 180mph. Well this is the halarious part. The Turbo TA beat it out. Not only in the quarter(it was like 12.6) but also in top end around 190. Its one of those typical general motors things when they scare them selves sh-tless because they never realized they could make a car that could out do the Corvette esspecially the ZR1 of all Corvettes. And when they do they refuse to beleive the results. Thats why half the racing community doesnt even know what a grand national is. and to give you an idea The grand national was the fastest american production car from 87 up until the release of the dodge viper.

Message: As the owner of a LS1 Camaro SS I can assure you that a stock Z28 will run high 13's all day long. Rated 13.9 by most mags and Chevrolet.
A base SS runs 13.7's, the top SS runs 13.6's out of the box. With a few bolt ons mine runs 13.3's, with drag radials I have a 12.9 time slip.
Ain't no stock Dakota gonna keep up. I have seen at least one dakota that could handily beat the SS, but they had way more $$$ in that truck than I do in the SS. For the money the Camaros are about the best power deal around. Shame they are becoming extinct. :(
P.S. NiPS zero Camaro SS have been produced by the chevrolet factory. The difference is the ram air hood, rear spoiler, free flowing exhaust, 17" wheels, and some cosmetic differences. Since 2001 there has also been an air induction upgrade. Performance wise Z28's and SS's are very close.

One person could run mid 14's, while another runs LOW 13's in the same car,,,it's all in how you drive it.

"Tell me something else if you guys are faster than me then why does kennebell only run 14.9 in cali" (quoted from your last post on first page)
Last time i checked, fellas, a kennebell was a supercharger... Now just to clearify things, Mr.Cali, this is exaclty what i said. (I quote it straight from my own post in response to your little kennebell that only runs 14.9 post.)
"If you know guys who are only running 14.9 with a supercharged R/T Then i would think about suggesting to your friends to hang up the keys and start thinking about car pooling with someone else or taking the bus to work..."

They'll always try to think of an excuse why you didn't beat him...he didn't know how to shift, he musta took off late, he wasn't a racer, he didn't have it floored, etc. Unless your there seein the guy try his hardest to beat you and actually see how close of a race it is, no one will believe you.

Many people that refuse to believe in our kills are the ones that got smoked, mainly because of their level of driving skill, not because of the car.
