Message: I have to respond to some of the posts on here. A friend of mine just got a 94 Dakota and he's been checking out the forums on them. Some of the posts on here are total BS. A stock 4000+ pound truck, even with 3.55's or 3.92's doing low 14's? Nope. For comparison....a 1988 Mustang GT, with 2.73's and 225hp/300ft/lbs weighs about 3400 or so with driver and gas. A good driver can get upper 14's stock.
Now you take a truck, that's going to launch like crap because of a light tail end, that weighs at least 600-1000 pounds more with roughly the same or up to 30hp more stock HP and potentially up to 40 more ft/lbs of torque is going to pull low 14's?? Not a chance. Even upper 14's is questionable with a stock truck. You'd need something close to 350ish HP to get to the low 14's with it, and a locking differential and better than stock suspension.
All you kids may now go back to talking trash about me and making up numbers when the math doesn't add up. :)
