Subject: learning to drive IP: Logged
Message: ive had my dakota for a few days 4.7 5 sp 3.92 r/c, i dont know if its just me getting used to a truck tranny compared to the cars ive driven, but i cant seem to get the shifts im looking for i just got throught the 300m break in period and the gears still seem pretty tight any suggestions? will my truck get any faster once a few more miles get thrown on it? i all ready beat a ranger 4.0 (2002) but only by about 4 truck lenghts

Message: I was in the same situation as you when i first got my 01 rc 4.7 5spd. I had to get used to running through the gears myself. Sometimes they can be notchy as hell. Downshifting was a biatch as well but I got used to it and now its easy. Just give it time.
