i have a v6 2000 dakota and i cant stop thinking of why i didnt get the rt. anyways one of my friends was looking in a magazine and saw rt engines for sale. is it possible to put the rt engine in a 3.9 and if it is what other things would i need to make it fit. tony

Get the 4.7! HIgher tech, much more power/cubic inch than the 5.9.

I also own a 4.7L and I'm happy with it, but if I had a choice (2002 cc 4x4) I would have gotten the 5.9L, soooo many more mods, you can really open a 5.9L up, Chrysler (in my opinion has this thing really de-tuned)
As far as just throwing a 5.9L in there, What I would do is, find a junked Dakota, just like yours (as far as reg or club cab) and transfer everything over to yours, including motor, trans, wires, and the computer, the rear end should be the same).
Or option two trade it in for an RT, if your insurance company finds out you have a small block in there, you might be in some trouble.
