With the Airaid your intake hat still remains stock vs the K&N replacing the entire unit. The stock air hat still causing restricting airflow due to the metal braces inside.

Does the Airaid come with a heat shield like the K&N?.
I was cautious about the K&N price too. I went with it because of their reputation. I had some problems with my first FIPK (air leaks due to cruddy construction). However, K&N replaced the air tube and now all is well.
You will like the sound and performance of the K&N set up.
I haven't heard much feedback on the Airaid..

I have an Airaid in my 2000 4.7 and it works great. I could tell a difference as soon as I installed it. I guess you should pick the one you think is best.

I use the AirAid on my 4.7L and I also have no complaints. I take it off in the winter because of possible salt/ice buildup on the open element. I miss it now that it's off, can't wait for spring. 2THEEXTRM has installed plumbing to his AirAid setup to do away with his stock air hat.

I am still running the Airraid, no icing problems or salting of filter:) and I get to keep the performance/sound gained!
Flowmaster cat back, Air Raid CAD and homemade TB connect, Poweraid TB Spacer, Splitfire Plugs

Yeah, you're all the way up there in upstate NY, down here in Joisey we ain't had much of a winter, might as well throw mine back on;-)

I have the airaid, and am happy with it. remember, you have to add a free flowing exhuast to feel the full benefits of any intake system.
