ok, i have been thinking when i install my M-1 would i notice a differance if i sent my heads out to get ported, polished and a valve job? i think bernd said there would be no gain unless you are running a SC. is this true? or am i mistaking? when running NA what shoud i do to the heads (if anything)

this is just an idea, if price is not too high i might consider doing it. i know krc does this for $400, but in not sending my heads 3k miles to get it done. ill find a place in so.cal

Never said there wouldn't be any gains.

Porting the runners is not where the HP is at on the Mopar heads...it's in the bowls. Unshroud the valves, some bowl work (cleanup), polish the combustion chamber, and a 3-angle valve job is all that's required for street use.

Polishing the runners does nothing unless you're running Alcohol or Nitro-Methane.

Brend is right, the head ports looked good while I had my intake off, but the ports on the BeerKeg where horrible. I've also notice the bowls on the magnum heads have this divider thats removed with the R/T heads. Even Mopar say's in there ad's that the R/T head will give you another 15-20hp. I'm guessing that's not RWHP on a stock magnum. Spend your money on a cam before getting your heads work on. That's my 2 cents, unless it's needs it, valve steam leaking or cracked heads, or bad valves an springs.
