I purchaced a transgo kit for my 2000 dak r/t and about to install. Maybe someone thats done this could answer my question. When refilling after install, can I use atf+3 fluid ? On the trans dipstick it says to use 7176 fluid. Is 7176 different or can you just use atf+3, the owners manual is kind of vauge on this. thanks

OK, I KNOW I'm going to stir up alot of controversy over this--use Type F fluid. It's the best for our "older style" trans!! Guys with the "newer style" multi-speeds stick to what DC recommends! I just changed fluid and filter in our '97 3.9 auto a couple of weeks ago and it shifts ALOT BETTER with the Type F fluid!

NO, NO, NO! B, you have a 2000 RT which requires +3 due to the amount of friction modifiers in it; I have a 2000 RT. Personally, when I had my fluid changed a month ago, the dealer "recommended" +4 fluid which contains a larger amount of friction modifiers for a longer lasting transmission. So, I spent the $$$ and went with +4. I cannot change back to +3 though.

Do you want your tranny to last? STAY WITH +3 at the very least!!!
