Message: is there a dakota doctor in the house?
This is my Third Mopar vehicle, 2nd message board site. (great website) did some wading through message boards, research in my Haynes book. checked my evap solenoid for loose wires and hoses. on my last MOPAR(ts) 97sebring convert same problem never fixed it, traded in for 97 dak spt 3.9 and wouldnt you know a year and half later, 82k miles, and here i am same prob? DO i buy a new solenoid valve like i did my convertble, and wonder if it will fix itself? DO i buy into this PCM banter and get me a HiPerf PCM? Im on a tight budget and just want to enjoy my stock pick up. has anyone else run into this code12? and can someone explain the relationship between PCMs, vapor evaps vales, and the best fix in a lingo that I can understand.
I fix people not cars. but am willing to get my hands bloody...I mean dirty.
suffering crappy gas mileage and an annoying engine light.

I think an error code 12 just means that your
battery was disconneted with the last 50 key-on
cycles.

Message: I just had that code and I had to get a harness to the fuse box and I had to get a wire put to the starter they had both shorted out.

Message: I had read through previous listings on this site about looking up codes and had found the message about www.objii.com or whatever. IT mentioned the evap valve thing. SO. anyways I pulled the part. looked at it with absolute amazement and plugged it all back in, after checking hoses etc.
wOULDnt you know it. the light went out.
Im sure this is a ploy, so I will run the OBD thing again in the AM. change the oil. give it some more TLC, shampoo, Zymol. keep a close eye on it. See if I can get my electrician buddy to test the wires on the harnes. AND check in daily for a dose of Dakota performance wisdom.
thanks all. Now all I need to do is understand PCM chips and cyclic exhaust systems...
cant be anyharder than the process of reionization of a sinus rythm. right?
