I have never heard of auto-tap.......is that like automatically tapping the steering wheel to the beat of the music? LOL

its diagnostic software. You run it on a laptop. Then plug the laptop into the car/truck/whatever and read most of what the PCM reads. You can figure out your air/fuel mixture, timing advance, knock retard, if the pcm is adding fuel,leaning out,missfires and the list goes on. I've used it on my chevy cars. Can't live without it.
