It fits and works perfectly. It says it's for the NV3500 V8 only but apparently someone did not realize it fits the V6 as well. Install took about an hour, total bolt on no modifications or fabrication needed. Well i know KNOW that 2000+ V6's have the NV3500 tranny. It definatly "feels" better it really hard to quantify, it is shorter throw but not a great deal it just feels solid and positive. Like other have said thought it is more noisy because it is more solid and has more metal parts, you can hear more tranny and engine noise being transmitted throught the shifter, personally i think it's kinda cool. So far i have only driven around a little to test it but so far it seems to be a worthwhile upgrade.

thats awsome Geoff, but us '01 guys will have to wait for hurst to make a '01+ shifter as the currect shifter they make for the 97-00 NV3500 5spd will not fit correctly. Though there is a fix to make it work you will also have to bend the shifter so it wont hit the dash. Theres a site which details the fix but i dont have it.

I've had my Hurst shifter on for several thousand miles now and had to pull it out last weekend. The bolts that attach the chrome shifter handle started to loosen and the shifter got all sloppy.I took out the crappy little rubber washer and mounted the stick on the LEFT side of the little plate that comes up from the tranny and used LOCTITE on the bolt threads! All better now!
Don't forget the Loctite!!!
Dave.

I ordered mine before I broke my wrist and it arrived after, so I had a little help putting it in but I had to take the stiff spring out so I could shift with my hand in the cast. Since I wans't in my usual grip I couldn't really get a feel for the difference at the time and after I got the cast off I was used to that nice snap into gear that the hurst has.

Glad to hear it all worked out Geoff.
