Subject: erratic idle/ TPS adjustment
IP: Logged

Message:
I did the TPS adjustment app. 2-3 weeks ago, and now have a problem. I reset the PCM after the adjustment, and everything was fine for a few days, then this problem occurred. The truck has an erratic idle. Sometimes it idles normal (around 600-700 rpm), and other times it will idle around 1500-1700 rpm. It also idles back and forth throughout this rpm range sometimes as well. Also, when the truck is in Drive and the idle is normal (600-700 rpm), and you shift it into Neutral the rpm's become erratic and go up to the 1500-1700 range again. Is the TPS adjusted to far, or is something else going on? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I also did the map sensor mod about a week before the TPS mod. Could this be the problem. I have checked for codes, and there your none. I have reset the PCM app. 3 times, and it still did not fix this problem.

Ive made the same tps adjustment on my '02 QC 4x4 5.9. Do it over again as per EXACT STEP BY STEP instructions on Speedtweaks tips& tricks. .7v to .75v is your ideal range. Start it and let it idle to relearn the new perameters.
