Message: I was wondering if there would be a noticilbe difference if I cut open my cats to my 4.7 V8 and too out the "guts". my uncle is a diesel mechanic and said it would probably make a noticible difference and we would not have to take them off to do it. I was just concerned with settin off a service engine light, and also about losing back pressure. I already have a vortex muffler with duals out the back.. any suggestions/comments? Thanks......

Message: good luck with passing smog! It will make the
truck sound "ballsier", not sure about power
gains though...high flow cats claim a few
horsepower gain, so it might make a
difference.

Message: it will make a noticable difference in sound and should provide a power increase, just do not leave an empty canister put pipe inside or remove the cat with a pipe.
you will need some sort of mill eliminator or you will get a check engine light.

Message: You might check with state laws, in California that's a big time fine.
