Message: I have a 5.2 with about every bolt-on .I am concerned that the stock injectors aren't flowing enough fuel. When should I upgrade the injectors and are the Ford Motorsports injectors a matched set, also 19# or 24#?

Message: Bernd , list of mods : K&N fipk with 9" filter, JBA headers , Ultra-flo cat back , ported 52mm TB ,Mopar pcm , MSD blaster 3 coil , Accel 9000 wires , brass cap and rotor , 3923 plugs , IAT adjuster , Black Magic 150 fan , underdrive pullies , shift kit ,,,,.It's 3800# (rc sb) and runs low 14's with a auto so it's close to 300hp at the crank. 1.7 Roller rockers or a ported intake will be next.

Message: Aaro, I have the close to the same mods you have with the exception of the shift kit, next thing on my list. Did it make a big difference. I do recommened the 1.7 rockers one of the best mods I did. I have 98 5.2 Club cab, a little heavier but I am 6'5 can't fit into a RC to well, been there done that with my old Toyota. Never taken my truck to the track yet. By the results of your truck I would think I would be running mid to hi 14's. Hopefully.

Message: JS , I am 6'5" and 230lbs and I fit in my RC , it's a Dodge not a toy. The trans go shift kit works great shifts fast and frim with no wheel spin and helped the 1/4 mile time about 2/10 of a second . Tires are very important to a good run . I have a g-tech to keep track of the added speed from a new mod and the FIPK was the best mod so far.

Message: Thanks for the info. Never been a regular cab so now I know. Just was used to my Toy at the time. Bernd what would make the most difference a shift kt or a M1 intake? Also would like to know on the injectors as well.

Message: Aaro, i have the 1.7 RR's and also the FIPK (with a lot of other mods) if you think the FIPK was your best mod GET THE 1.7's... WOW!
JS, the M-1 is on back order for a while. you might want to get the shiftkit, then the M-1. they might be availabe by then.

Message: Get the FMS injectors, the 19# ones. You really won't need the 24# ones until you are running a super or turbocharger.Summit has them for around $200.They only take about 45 minutes or less to install.

Message: Calculations show that you are closer to 245 hp at the flywheel, Aaro. I have same mods plus the ported intake manifold and I am a long ways from needing larger injectors. 1.7s go in next and I still won't need larger injectors. You can base your need for larger injectors off of the O2 reading if you have a way to tap into an O2 sensor. Hope this helps.

Message: I think he is a little over 245 HP. Stock is 230 HP at the crank. Correct me if im wrong but your saying all the mods he has done only resulted in 15 HP??

Message: 230 is stock rating with no power users. There is about a 10% + or - on that rating. I am not sure what is on the motors when they are tested (power steering, fan, etc.) but the real flywheel hp on an engine as you buy it from the factory is depressing. You don't want to know.

Message: Eric, I love the shifter! it was real easy to install,I got it off ebay for $65, The shifts are real short and much more precise.I kept the round black shifter ball that came with it mainly because I like it better, but also because those goofy looking Hurst handles look too "high school"
I would highly recommend getting one. They are definately worth the money!
Dave.
P.S. where abouts do you live?

Message: Aaro, bad news then. These engines never dyno anywhere close to 230 h.p. on a chassis dyno even if you add back the losses between the engine and rear tires (something like 20% I think).
