Message: adding on to this old post. so in conclusion pulling the required fuse(s) on the dash will allow the odo to die. as long as my tranny will still shift fine, im fine with that. any of you know if the gauges being dead results in faulty shifting?

Message: Yes pulling the fuse works BUT the PCM records your mileage so unless you know someone with a DRBIII (to reset the PCM) you may get caught.
On a 01 5.9 it does alter the shifting slightly but it is actually a better pattern. Fuel econ. change is negligible. Not sure on a 4.7 and their trans.
The only thing that doesn't work is the guages all else works.
I can't believe this is still alive!
