Subject: 5.9L swap IP: Logged
Message: I have a 93 dakota 4X4 with a 5.2L.
I am interested in swapping the tired 5.2L with a 5.9L for the extra pulling power But I need information on this swap. Does anyone know where I can get information on this swap? Any help would be appreciate.

Message: The only difference between the 2 is that the 360 uses different short block, it is externaly balanced, and the computer programing. Thats it.

Message: You have to have computer, Harmonic balancer and the balace wieghts welded to the torque convertor, or the appropiate flywheel if a manual trans. Pretty easy swap almost did it on my 97.
