I've seen a lot of discussion here around throttle bodies for the 3.9's and 4.7's of the world. Just wondering what thoughts you guys have for a throttle body upgrade for my 5.9L? Sounds like you guys are getting pretty good "bang for the buck" with a new TB. Any suggestions? recommendations? Is it an involved process to swap one out? or something that a weekender like myself can do without too much difficulty?

No lie here...the F&B Billet 50mm has shown consistent .30 decreases in 1/4 mile times on the R/T's. They constantly have group buys on Bruce's TB's. (Hughes is 2nd in line though.)
Total time to swap is about 30 minutes.

But, aside from faster race times, will I notice anything in raw HP and/or torque? My truck probably won't hit the track much, but WILL be used in the "off road" environment where it never hurts to have a little extra "ooomph", if ya know what I mean!

Dont waste your money, you wont get 10-15hp thats is straight up a joke you wont feel any diffrence,you will only feel like a chump after you spend all that money and then try to convince your self it gave you more HP, if you want to waste money give it to me I will put it to good use. dont listen to 90% of these chumps on this page Im not saying I know it all cuz I dont but I tell you from experience, theres good techs out there that will tell you what is worth buying and whats not, just ask around walk in to shops or dealerships and ask, mainly the old guys stay away from the young know it alls.

MPJunkie: You need the facts...I have them and so do more than 100 R/T owners with the F&B Throttle Bodies. The average gain is .3 in the 1/4 mile...you do the math. I've done the math and then Dyno tested it against a stock V8 throttle body. In my case, 15 HP was the average gain with a peak of 20HP in the higher RPM's.

Geez mpjunkie, why are you so negative? I've tried a few of the things that have been suggested on this board and everyone of them improved performance right about to where they said it would be. Sounds like you are just a little scared of all that new fangled electronics stuff!!

Don't waste your money on a TB? No gains?
How about a .50 gain 0-60 and .20 1/4 mile with a Quick-D TB on a 5.2.

Hey MPFlunkie...do the math again: 3-tenths is easy to get...just have to know where to do it (and it doesn't cost a whole lot of money). I've increased my performance, from factory, by almost 2 seconds.

ok i hear a lot about the f&B tb but no one says anything about holly's tb they make a billet 52mm one is it any good? i am interested to buy one but whant to make sure i get the best of the best.
