I've seen a few messages that refer to a Z-tube with K&N filter. Is the the K&N filter better than the filter that Intenseperformance sells with the Z-tube?
Also, what is the purpose of the airhat? I know the QuickD uses the stock airhat and the Z-tube doesn't. How does this affect performance?
Just trying to figure out if it's worth the extra $50 to use the Z-tube. I don't race, but I want to have some fun. Thanks!

this is a very good question? does anyone know what brand come with the z-tube? i imagine there would not be much differnce between the one that comes with the package and the K&N? i have a z-tube on order.. guess there are being machined as we speak.. should get it by end of next week.. i have had a good experince dealing with this company so far... thanks......

I've had my Z-tube for a week now. It comes with an S&B filter, which looks the same, and is made with basically the same materials as the K&N. It also has an inverted section at the end of the cone to filter more.
It definitely improved the power, but that could be because my stock airbox was half full of leaves from the fall! Felt like it added 20hp! Now I just need to figure out how to make some sort of heat sheild...

Hey loud4.7, when did you order your z-tube? I ordered mine 3-10 and it still hasn't come. Everytime I call the co. they say that it should be only a few more days. That was one week ago. I guess they have more business than they know what to do with.

I just got an email back from intense performance about the ztube they have some 7" ones in stock and it will be about a week before they can get the 9" ones it seems like there getting flodded with orders right now, so be patient.

I just checked my order status on the intense perf. website and it finally said that my order has been shipped. I ordered the 9" filter also so hopefully I will get it in a few days:)
