Message: People seem to get maybe a little too into how loud the exhaust needs to be. Loud doesn't equal powerful, have you ever heard the exhaust note of a viper gts it's not loud at basic operating speeds but when you get on it, it sounds very tough and not overly loud. When I think loud exhaust I think ricer with fart can which to me is no different than someone with a weak V8 trying to make it sound tougher.
Most V8's have a very nice pronounced tough note that engineers spend a long time trying to get right. There are some exhausts out there that will improve the exhaust note, not add too many DB and maybe even gain a few HP, these are the giood exhausts. There are others that improve flow and maybe gain a few HP but the sound is so loud that driving down the highway could cause hearing damage. Not to mention the fact that you'll feel like a jackass driving around in the middle of the night with an exhaust that loud (or at least you should) and the cops might pull you over, order an inspection and that nice loud exhaust has to be changed.

Message: I've got a MagnaFlow single in - dual out 2.5" on my 4.7 QC Auto. Just loud enough. Moderate 'grumble' coming up to speed from a stop. Nice rumble idling. Fairly quiet (just a little louder than stock) cruising at 60 MPH. Click the throttle wide open from a stop and it's loud as hell ... very throaty, deep roar. Works perfect for me.

Message: U know, when someone asks a question that's been asked 100 times, u guys flame them for asking a question that's been asked a 100 times. Then u tell them to use the search. So then when someone uses the search and finds an old post, u flame them for finding an old post. Just a little childish to me.
Guess I better put MY flame suit on.

Message: Hey "ME" and "SLOW GUY", why don't you go back to the horse drawn carrage days and maybe you will get the clue! All things repeat! As long as there are 4 stroke combustion engines, (you guys do know what they are don't you?) people will want to modify them. Not everybody has read all the posts on this site, some of us do have live's ya know, and it is refreshing to know that some of the younger generation are interested in getting the most out of a mopar! I don't think that you guys are old enough to have driven a 66' Barracuda or a 68 Charger with a 383 Magnum and have toasted the factory rubber through all 4 gears. Or stood at the starting line when a top fuel dragster did its burn out. Let the people who want to learn get the knowledge to do so. By the way, slow guy what is a "suggention"? just in case the people that "WANT" even get them want to know.

Message: 03/rt: Mine is a 99 5.2 4x4 2dr. club cab. I had the muffler cut out and a straight pipe put in, and also had a 3 1/2" chrome resinator tip (about 18"long) welded on in place of the stock tail pipe. (behind the right rear tire). I also took off the entire cold air box system and put on an old fashioned chrome edelbrock air cleaner. Here in Albuquerque (1 mile above sea level) it seems to make more power but I also use more gas because I put my foot in it alot more. I also use 2 1qt. cans of turbo 108 octane booster with every third tank of premium fuel. sounds great!

Message: I have a glasspack muffler for sale. It was on my truck for about a year. It oval shaped and has a straight-through design. Also, it has a big turndown welded behind it and I could easily set car alarms off with it on my 3.9.

Message: The flowmaster two chamber turndown exhaust comes clean. it drops right in front of the axle, and is a nasty tone...Ive got that attached up to my 2001 5.9 R/T sounds downright nasty under acceleration, but not too overpowering at idle... sets off car alarms when I drive down the city streets, which is pretty funny. does have that familiar "flowmaster drone" at highway speed....KEEPING IN MInd that on most TRUCKS, the weight is almost 2 tons, menaing that intake makes more performance than exhaust, opening the exhaust too much can hurt torque....
I'm really interested in the dual MBRP Cuda style exhaust, but I wanna get a new Throttle body first, along with the M1 intake.
